My name is Shimmy Rosenfeld, and my passion for animals and the western lifestyle has been with me for as long as I can remember. In 2019, I started raising animals in my backyard. It wasn’t a business at the time. It was simply something I loved. Every new animal brought excitement, and before long, my backyard had become a place where family and friends gathered to experience a little piece of country life.
Some of my favorite memories are watching my daughters grow up alongside the animals. They learned responsibility by helping care for them, formed special bonds with each one, and experienced a childhood filled with fresh air, open space, and hands-on farm life. Those early days helped shape the vision of what Rosenfeld Ranch would one day become.
As the dream continued to grow, we outgrew the backyard. In 2023, I moved to Howell, New Jersey, where Rosenfeld Ranch finally had the space to become everything I had imagined. What began with just a handful of animals has grown into a thriving ranch with horses, miniature horses, Highland cattle, cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, donkeys, ponies, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and many more.
In a world that moves so fast, I wanted to build a place where children could experience the simple joys that I believe every child deserves.
For me, the ranch has always been about more than raising animals. It’s about creating a place where families can slow down, reconnect with nature, and make memories together. Building Rosenfeld Ranch has taken years of hard work, faith, and perseverance. Every fence, every barn, every animal, and every improvement represents another step toward the vision I started with years ago. While the ranch continues to grow, the heart behind it remains the same: sharing the beauty of farm life and giving others a place that feels peaceful, welcoming, and authentic.
